ABOUT THE WE/Me FARM

In March 2010, when Paul Quinn College decided to convert its football field into a farm, eyebrows were certainly raised. But the move symbolized the College’s dedication to a team of a different kind – the team of individuals and organizations fighting to end food insecurity and injustice in the United States. Defined as a region with little to no access to affordable and nutritious food, the federally recognized ‘food desert’ in the southern sector of Dallas, TX has been without adequate support for over 60 years.

The WE Over Me Farm at Paul Quinn seeks to impact that injustice, and has produced more than 30,000 pounds of organically grown produce since its inception. No less than 15% of this produce has been donated to neighborhood charitable organizations, and the remainder is distributed to local community members, the College, and local food business partners.

As a part of the Paul Quinn Work Program, the Farm is operated and maintained primarily by Paul Quinn student-employees under the guidance of the Farm Manager. Students actively engage in all farm activities, from business planning to marketing, and thus it serves as a model of socially-conscious and environmentally-driven servant leadership and entrepreneurship. In addition to providing fresh, healthy, affordable food options for its surrounding residents, the Farm strives to improve communities throughout the metroplex by providing hands-on educational experiences for youth and adults alike to promote healthy eating, improved food access, and environmental stewardship.

Legends Hospitality at AT&T Stadium

In 2021, Legends Hospitality at AT&T Stadium added to their ongoing partnership with the WE Over Me Farm to launch the Plant Based Touchdown Campaign, “Directly combating diabetes, hypertension, and other chronic illnesses in African-American, Latino, & Native American communities, by inspiring all fans to incorporate more plants in their diet.”

Inspired by game day cuisine and using WE Over Me Farm’s produce organically grown on the campus of Paul Quinn in Southern Dallas, exciting offerings of plant-based culinary creations will be available at new vegetarian concessions at AT&T Stadium on Dallas Cowboys game days. The healthful, flavorful vegetarian recipes are also distributed to fans and community members throughout the DFW metroplex, and available online to try at home.
